Curb Your Enthusiasm – ReCap 11/8/09

It’s here- the highly anticipated audition for the Seinfeld reunion!
Cheryl and her friend Virginia are both reading for the part of George’s wife, and although Larry has had his heart set on Cheryl, he agrees to Jerry’s decision to give Virginia the role. Cheryl winds up getting the part by default when Virginia winds up in a neck brace. According to Larry, there are only two ways for a person to hurt one’s neck. One is from a car accident and the other one is from an R-rated website – which we are not.
We haven’t seen much of Suzie lately, but this week she returns and is more furious than ever. This week’s episode opens with her in the car with Jeff, who makes the mistake of asking her to find something in the glove box. While going through it, she discovers a pair of women’s underwear. As he’s done so many times before, Jeff uses Larry as the scapegoat, saying that he finds comfort in wearing panties. A bit of a stretch, but considering that in a previous season Suzie caught Larry “mincing around” in her bra, it might just work.
The episode is complicated by other incidents, one being Larry’s walking out of Banana Republic with a pair of their pants after a fire alarm goes off while he’s shopping for pants, which he hates doing. Rather than wait an hour for the firefighters to finish their inspection, Larry decides to wear the pants until he is able to return them and retrieve his pair, which he left in the dressing room. F ew people understand the logic behind wearing a pair of pants that still have the security tag on them, but Jerry Seinfeld gets it and explains to Cheryl that “he wears the pants so he doesn’t have to carry them” as though it makes perfect sense.
The second incident is a feud sparked when Larry criticizes a group of kids’ lemonade and tells their mother that “the stand needs some supervision.” The dispute escalates when Larry drives by the kids’ house with the window open while singing “Officer Krupkey” from West Side Story and loudly exclaims the line “Krup you”. The young entrepreneurs’ mother sends Officer Krupkey, whom Larry became acquainted with earlier in the episode, to Jeff and Suzie’s house to scold Larry. When Krupkey notices the security tag on Larry’s pants, he demands he hands them over-and Larry does, only to reveal a pair of panties that he wore to convince Suzie that Jeff’s claim was true. It is yet to be seen if Larry agrees to cover for the neck injury that Jeff suffers at the end of this episode, but one thing seems certain: He’s Larry David, and he enjoys wearing women’s underpants.
